Stupid Ebayer

Backstory:

I was bidding on a loose set of Monsters 1 on Ebay. The seller did some ghost bidding to raise the price and I caught him so I stopped bidding and didn't win.

Less than 2 hours after the auction's end, I get an e-mail from the seller saying the 'winner' was backing out and not going to pay. He asked if I still wanted them at my highest bid price and sent me a link to the 2nd chance offer.

I checked the price on the 2nd chance offer and also checked the original auction's bid history. Since the 'winner' of the original auction backed out, I told the seller I would only pay my highest bid if the 'winner' had never bid, which was $8 less than what he wanted. Since he can only do one 2nd chance offer thru Ebay, we do the deal outside Ebay. Thus, I can't leave him negative feedback there.

We agree on that price and I Paypal him the funds INCLUDING SHIPPING. After a week I e-mail him and ask if they'd been shipped. He replies "No, I've had some personal problems but I'll mail them tomorrow via 2-3 day Priority."

So, another week goes by and I e-mail him again. No reply. I wait a couple days, rinse and repeat. Finally I file a complaint with Paypal. His response to Paypal was "I've been having some money problems and didn't ship the items." WTF, I paid for shipping and the items, there is no money problem. So, after a week, I get an e-mail from Paypal saying they've resolved my claim and I'll be getting $3.83 refunded 'cuz that's all he has in his PP acct. So, great, I'm out $27.

Well, I check my Ebay and find out he has several other auctions up with zero bids. I create a ghost acct and bid on everyone of his auctions. They all close today so I e-mail him via my Ebay ghost acct and ask about shipping prices so I can get a MO ready. I also ask for his mailing address and phone number. He replies with the address but no number. Never fear: I did a people search on Yahoo and it pulls up the same exact addy WITH a home number.

Mr. Ripoff Artist will get a call tomorrow from the Ohio Dept of Public Safety, Internet and Mail Fraud division. I'll keep you posted on what happens next.

End of rant and possible revenge for now.

damn. it wasnt tortured soul was it? he pulled that crap like crazy. you bought something from him, paid for shipping, and he still wouldnt send it, saying he had personal problems
